 I WILL ALLEVIATE WATER STRIFE IN GWER WEST WITH A DAM ---Hon. Ikyo Innocent. 

My dear people of Gwer East and Gwer West. After consulting on needs of communities, I have identified key projects I will prioritize when elected to represent you at

the NASS. I'm sharing them in bits through social media and one-on-one community feedback visits.

One priority for me will be to address water challenges in Gwer West. Since bore holes don't work here, I will use the instrument of legislation to ensure another dam is dug in Gyaluwa. It's painful to watch our mothers ride bicycles, push carts (locally called trucks) over 7km to find water at Naka dam. The dam is overstretched and may not meet the water needs of fast-increasing population in the next 5 years.

The proposed dam will be good enough to trigger irrigation so that women and youth in the Ayemegh and Achamegh area can farm all-year. The world has evolved beyond weather-reliant farming. We will deliver this dam project as a team. I will facilitate its inclusion in the 2019 budget and follow up to see that budget releases are made. I will support you, yes I mean you to do advocacy to see this project.
Together we will solve our water problem in a way that also enriches us. I have chosen to give you dates and locations so that you can hold me accountable to my manifesto. This is just the first release.
